Sardines

I know I haven't been great about updating my blog lately, as my friend Lindsay so astutely pointed out to me today... And I really have been thinking about doing it, just haven't gotten around to it. But lots of stuff has been happening, so I definitely need to stay on top of this!
So here goes.... In an effort to save my money, my parents have decided to rent their house in Cedar Park and move into the shop. Well, as you know - Tim and I also live at the shop. So we will now all be cohabitating. I know it sounds crazy because the shop is small and we are 4 grown adults!! But, surprisingly, I'm actually kind of excited. I mean, maybe it's because I know how very temporary this little slumber party is going to be, so there's no need to stress... or maybe it's because my parents are so very much cooler than most. I'm not sure. But, I'm taking a positive, optimistic outlook and I think we're going to have fun. The downside, though of course - is the very, very packed way in which we are living like sardines. :o) I have included a couple of mid-move photos so you can see all of our stuff lying around that we haven't gotten taken care of yet. A lot of this will be going into a storage unit, which we just rented today. So, I guess the next photos you see will be the finished product. Hopefully, it will be comfortable and liveable. Otherwise, we may be moving out sooner than we planned!
Like I said, stuff EVERYWHERE right now!! Frightening isn't it?
A couple other new things in our lives since the last time we posted... It doesn't even seem that new anymore because it's been a couple months - but it's just been that long since the last time I blogged. (My bad!) Anyway, in June, my mom decided the shop was ready to take the plunge and hire Tim for full time so he was able to quit UPS and focus solely on Hub Cap Annie. Which is fantastic because, we all know that's where his heart lies. So Mom flew him out to Indianapolis on a business trip to learn about repairing wheels and such, because that is the direction the shop is headed. After that, they purchased the required machinery and Tim has been repairing wheels and working to increase revenue. He loves it and seems to have Hub Cap Annie running through his blood... We must have been destined for each other! :o) I should post some pictures of the new machinery that Mom bought, but I'm not going to right now because I'm exhausted and too tired to mess with the layout stuff on my blog.
I also started a new job at a Drug & Alcohol Recovery center called Mark Houston Recovery. It's in Manor, which is about 15 minutes East of Austin, so it's a bit of a drive for me... But Mom works there too and that's how I heard of the opening for Office Manager. I had been looking and hoping for an alternative to being in the mortgage industry for a while so when this came along, I just had to take it. I've only been there like 5 or 6 weeks now, but so far, I'm really enjoying it. I'll have to post pics of that too when I download it off of my phone.
Well I guess I'm headed out now. Time for sleep - my eyes are closing. I will work to keep my blog better updated, and stay tuned for more action shots of the move.

Living with parents is not that bad when you have cool parents, if only everyone were so lucky as all of us! I'm so glad that things are going so well for you guys with your new job and Tim's full time status at hub cap annie, congrats!
